Hot pepper paste or Gochujang in Korean is a dark red, smooth paste made from red pepper, rice, salt, glutinous rice, hot rice, onions, garlic, rice flour, fermented soy powder, corn syrup and koji. It is sharp in taste.
Gochujang is an indispensable seasoning in Korean cuisine. It can be used with all dishes. It is a kind of sambal for the Koreans. Gochujang can be used in stew pots. But it is also used to make a Korean rice stick dish: Topokki. As a dipping sauce Gochujang is of course the right sauce to bring various snacks to taste.
