Dosirak: Korean Lunch Box

A simple Korean lunch box filled with meat, kimchi and rice.



INGREDIENTS

  • 1 rice cup of Korean rice
  • 1½ rice cup of water
  • 340g luncheon meat
  • 410g kimchi
  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch of sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 roasted nori sheets
  • ½ tsp roasted sesame seeds

PREPARATION


Wash the rice until the water is clear. Add 1½ rice cup of water and turn on the rice cooker. Cut the seaweed and kimchi into strips. Cut the luncheon meat into thin slices of 1 cm.



Heat oil in a pan. Put the slices of luncheon meat in the pan. Fry the meat on both sides. Take the luncheon meat out of the pan. Turn the heat to medium low. Break the eggs above the pan and fry them. Take them out. If necessary, add a bit of oil in the pan. Stir-fry the kimchi for 2 minutes with a pinch of sugar. Sprinkle sesame oil over the kimchi.



Put the rice in the lunch box. Put the slices of luncheon meat, kimchi and seaweed strips on top. Lastly, sprinkle sesame seeds over the dish.
