Rakugan Higashi: Dried Japanese Sugar Candies

How beautiful are these candies from Japan? Serve them together with tea or as a dessert. Or surprise your family and friends with it as a little Christmas present.



Ingredients:

  • 30g powder sugar
  • 2 ml water
  • 20g glutinous rice flour
  • Food coloring
  • Potato starch

How to make it:


Mix the food colorings with water. Then add sugar. Add glutinous rice flour until the dough holds finger marks.



Dust the molds with potato starch. Fill the molds tightly with the batter. Remove the superfluous batter with a flat object. Hold the mold upside down so the candies fall out. Dry the candies in the shade.
