Barbecue Skewers With Spicy Tofu And Vegetables

A vegetarian skewer with spicy marinated tofu, cherry tomatoes and red bell pepper.


  • 325g tofu
  • 1 tsp sambal (chili sauce)
  • 3 Tbsp kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Red bell pepper


  • 6 bamboo skewers


Drain the tofu. Put it on a paper towel and use another paper towel to press out as much moisture as possible. Repeat this step a couple of times. Cube the tofu.

Mix the sweet soy sauce and the chili sauce in a bowl. Add the tofu cubes and stir. Marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge.

In the meantime, slice the red bell pepper into bite-sized pieces. Soak the bamboo skewers in water. Thread the tofu cubes, tomatoes and red bell pepper onto the skewer.

Grill the skewers on the barbecue for 5 minutes.
