Ayam Goreng Kalasan: Javanese Fried Chicken

Ayam goreng kalasan is an Indonesian dish consisting of fried chicken that is typical from the region of Yogyakarta. Thanks to the Bamboe seasoning mix, the fried tender meat obtains a savory flavor that tastes just right! Serve this dish with steamed rice and vegetables such as cucumbers, basil leaves or sliced cabbage.


  • Bamboe Ayam Goreng Kalasan seasoning paste
  • Frying oil
  • 500g chicken
  • 200 ml coconut milk

Cut 500g chicken into pieces. Boil 200 ml of coconut milk, add the seasoning paste and chicken. Simmer until tender and thickened. Deep-fry the chicken until golden brown.
