These lamb skewers are all over the streets in Northern China. Deliciously seasoned with dry chili peppers and cumin. Generously sprinkle the skewers with spices straight off the grill.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
500g lamb meat
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
2 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp dried chili pepper flakes
White pepper (to your own preference)
Yoghurt with Thai cilantro
Step 1: Put the bamboo skewers in a bowl filled with water. This will make sure that the skewers won’t burn.
Step 2: Cut the lamb meat in thin slices.
Step 3: Mix all the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl. Add the lamb meat and mix properly.
Step 4: Thread the strip of lamb meat on a skewer.
Step 5: Roast the lamb skewers for about 5 minutes and flip sides halfway.
Step 6: Sprinkle some additional chili flakes and cumin over the lamb.
