Complete your Halloween party with these bat cupcakes! Bake 16 spooky cupcakes for your guest and give them a good fright!
INGREDIENTS
Batter:
- 200ml boiling water
- 50g cacao powder
- 2 eggs
- 175g granulated sugar
- 8ml vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 140ml vegetable oil
- 175g flour
- 2 tl baking powder
Chocolate cream as topping:
- 250g mascarpone
- 115g Nutella
- 40g powdered sugar
- 8ml vanilla extract
- 1 el cacao powder
Decoration:
- 16 Oreo cookies
- Optional: edible eyes
PREPARATION
- 1. Mix the boiling water with the cacao powder and let it cool off.
- 2. Mix the eggs with the granulated sugar, vanilla extract and salt, until it becomes one consistent mass. Add the oil and cacao water, and mix it well again. Add the flour and baking powder and mix it until it’s a smooth batter.
- 3. Place the paper cupcake molds in the baking mold. Put the batter in the cupcake molds. Put it in a preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes at 175°C.
- 4. Make the chocolate cream in the meantime: beat up the mascarpone, together with the vanilla extract, cacao powder, powdered sugar and Nutella. Cover it and put it in the fridge.
- 5. Are the cupcakes cooled off? Then put some chocolate cream on top of it. Divide the Oreo cookies in two and place them on the chocolate cream. Optional: place a pair of edible eyes on it as well.
Variation tip
Make a few cupcakes covered in multiple eyes, so it looks like a monster (see photo 2).
