Taste the flavors of Suriname by trying these spaghetti with shrimps, asparagus beans and pickled vegetables. This recipe is very easy to make, especially thanks to Faja Lobi’s ready-made sauces.
INGREDIENTS
- Surinamese spaghetti
- 500g shrimps (medium, tailless)
- Sunflower oil
- 1 large onion
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 Tbsp Faja Lobi Bami Trafasie
- 1 Tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp piment powder
- ½ tsp Faja Lobi Trassie Trafasie
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 1 Tbsp Faja Lobi Pinda Sambal, ground
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 slice of Madame Jeanette pepper
- 75ml water
- 2 bunches of celery, chopped
- 2 tsp pure sesame oil
- Faja Lobi Zuurgoed Trafasie
PREPARATION
STEP 1: Stir-fry the shrimps with 1 tablespoon of oil for a couple of minutes, then scoop it up.
STEP 2: Heat 5 tablespoons of oil, then fruit 1 onion and 4 garlic cloves until light-brown.
STEP 3: Add the shrimps, Bami Trafasie, tomato paste, piment powder, Trassie Trafasie, ginger, peanut sambal sauce, tomato and Madame Jeanette pepper, and stir.
STEP 4: Add water, stir and cook for another 7 minutes.
STEP 5: Add the celery and sesame oil in the last minute, stir and simmer briefly.
Serving suggestion
Serve with Surinamese spaghetti, asparagus beans and Zuurgoed Trafasie.
Variation tip
Instead of shrimps, you can also use tofu or meat.
