Vegan doesn't mean tasteless! This vegan stir-fried tempeh recipe will prove to you that what matters is the seasoning. Tempeh is a fermented soybean cake that is high in protein and low in fat. Its taste evokes the aromas of mushrooms, nuts and yeast. This is a delicious alternative to meat!

INGREDIENTS

  • Bamboe Bumbu Bali seasoning paste
  • 500g tempeh *
  • 3 Tbsp oil
  • 1 tomato
  • 150 ml water

PREPARATION
Heat 3 tablespoon of oil in a pan, stir-fry the seasoning paste for 1 minute. Add 1 chopped red tomato and 500g tempeh into the pan, stir-fry for another 5 minutes. Add 150 ml of water (and 1 tablespoon sugar if preferred), simmer for 20 minutes until the sauce thickened).

*Variation tip
You can replace tempeh with fried tofu, potato, eggs, fish, chicken or beef.
