Ingredients
300g chicken thighs
5 spring onions
2 tbsp sake
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 cloves of garlic
1 tsp corn syrup
White pepper (to your own preference)

Preparation
Step 1: Put the bamboo skewers in a bowl filled with water. This will make sure that the skewers will not burn.
Step 2: Separate the white part from the green part of the spring onions by cutting, and put the white part aside for later.
Step 3: Cut the chicken thighs in cubes of 2.5 cm.
Step 4: Mix the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl. Add the chicken to the bowl of marinade and let sit in the fridge for the next 3 hours or overnight.
Step 5: Skewer cubes of chicken alternating pieces of spring onion. Make sure that you begin and end with a piece of chicken.
Step 6: Roast yakitori for about 5 minutes and flip halfway.
Step 7: Lastly, use a brush to cover the chicken skewers with yakitori sauce or honey.
