- Steamer
- Ceramic Chinese tea cups, ⌀ 5 cm
- 300 ml water
Pondan cake mix, consisting of:
- Cake mix
- Yeast
- Bring water to a boil in a steamer, over high heat. To achieve the best results, use a steamer with big perforated holes on the base plate.
- Mix the cake mix and yeast with 300 ml water, using a wooden spatula. Then sift.
- Pour the batter into each tea cup, until all batter is used. Fill every cup until full.
- Put all of the cups into the steamer. All need to be steamed right away, since yeast will work optimally for only a short period of time. Steam them for about 18 minutes. Do not open the lid during steaming.
- Take all cups out of the steamer. Then take all cakes out of the cup while it’s still warm.
