This distinctively sour and tangy shrimp soup is served with a healthy selection of fresh vegetables.
INGREDIENTS
- 18g Mama Sita’s Tamarind Seasoning Mix
- 250g shrimps, deveined and trimmed
- 100g long green beans
- 100g kangkong vegetables
- 75g tomatoes
- 50g daikon (radish)
- 45g onion
- 2 long green chili peppers
- Fish sauce to taste
- 1 liter water
Serve with:
- Rice
PREPARATION
Cut the long green beans into 5 cm. Slice the radish diagonally. Slice the tomato. Quarter the onion.
Add the water, tomatoes, onions and the radish to a saucepan. Bring it to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Pour in the tamarind seasoning mix. Increase the heat and bring to a rolling boil. Add the prawns. Add the long green beans, green peppers and fish sauce. Cover and simmer for another 3 minutes or until the prawns are cooked.
Turn off the heat and add the kangkong. Cover to steam-cook the vegetables. Serve hot with rice.
