French toast with peanut butter
Hong Kong-style French toast. A sandwich with a layer of peanut butter, dipped in an egg mixture and then fried in oil. Delicious with condensed milk or syrup and butter. A popular breakfast dish in Hong Kong.

Based on 2 persons
- 4 slices of white bread
- 2 tbsp smooth peanut butter
- 10g butter
- 2 eggs
- 100 ml pancake syrup/condensed milk
- 100 ml of oil
- Beat the eggs in a shallow bowl.
- Spread the creamy peanut butter on 1 slice of bread and place the other slice on top. Repeat this with the other two slices. Then cut off the crusts.
- Then place the peanut butter sandwiches in the egg mixture and make sure that the sandwiches are completely covered with the egg mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan. Place 1 peanut butter sandwich at a time in the hot oil and fry the bread for 2 minutes on each side or until it is golden brown.
- Serve with butter and syrup.
