This Chinese-Surinamese cha sew is inspired by the famous Chinese char siu pork recipe. Char siu actually refers to a method of cooking in the oven that makes the meat flavourful and fragrant.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250g pork
  • 1-2 Tbsp Lufo Cha Sew marinade
  • 1 Tbsp rum or wine
  • Oil

Serve with:

  • Asparagus beans
  • Rice

PREPARATION

Add 1-2 tablespoons of Lufo Cha Sew Marinade to the meat and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or longer for a fuller flavor. Add 1 tablespoon of rum or wine to the marinade. Roast it in the oven or on the barbecue, or stir-fry it in the wok pan with some oil. Serve with asparagus beans and rice.

Variation tips

  • You can also use chicken instead of pork
  • Instead of rice, you can also serve Cha Sew on bread
