Fried rice is an extra popular and classic Asian dish: it is not only easy and quick to make, but also super tasty! When it is made at home, it is usually made with leftovers ingredients. This means that there are an infinite numbers of variations possible! This recipe will teach you how to make Hong Kong-style fried rice.
INGREDIENTS
- 400g Kotomisi Basmati rice
- 4 eggs
- Faja Lobi Zonnebloemolie Trafasie
- 200g pink shrimps (medium)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, pressed
- 250g chicken breast, in cubes
- Madame Jeanette pepper
- 50g julienned carrot
- 4 spring onions, cut
- 100g garden peas
- 4 Tbsp Faja Lobi Nasi Trafasie Speciaal
- 1 Tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp Faja Lobi Trassie Trafasie
- 1 tsp ground piment
PREPARATION
STEP 1: Prepare the Kotomisi basmati rice according to the instructions on the package.
STEP 2: Stir-fry the eggs with 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil.
STEP 3: Stir-fry the shrimps with 1 tablespoon of oil and scoop it up.
STEP 4: Heat 5 tablespoons of sunflower oil, and fruit the onion and garlic until light-brown.
STEP 5: Add the chicken and Madame Jeanette pepper, and stir-fry for a couple of minutes until the meat is done.
STEP 6: Add the carrot, spring onion and garden peas, stir and cover the pan with the lid. Stir from time to time, until done.
STEP 7: Add the Nasi Trafasie Speciaal, tomato paste, Trassie Trafasie and piment, and stir-fry for a couple of minutes.
STEP 8: Add the shrimps and stir.
STEP 9: Add the cooked rice, and stir-fry for 5 minutes.
STEP 10: Add the stir-fried eggs and stir again.
Serving suggestion
Serve with Faja Lobi Zuurgoed Trafasie and fried plantain. Super tasty with Surinamese roti sambal sauce!
Variation tip
Also delicious with egg slices, tomato, and lettuce.
