Bulgogi is one of the most popular beef dishes from Korea. It is thinly sliced meat, marinated in a sweet, savory sauce. Bulgogi is often grilled and eaten together with a lettuce leave.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g ribeye steak
  • 1 jar Korean bulgogi sauce

Fillings:

  • Lettuce or other leafy greens
  • 250g cooked white rice
  • 1 large onion
  • Carrot
  • Cucumber
  • Spring onion
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 150g kimchi

Dipping sauces:

  • Ssjamjang
  • Gochujang

PREPARATION

Wash the beef and dry it well with a paper towel. Cut it into thin slices. Marinate the beef in the Korean bulgogi sauce for 1 hour.

Cook the rice according to the instructions on the package and set aside. Wash the lettuce leaves and drain well.

Cut the onion into thin strips. Slice the carrot, cucumber, red chili pepper and spring onion into thin strips. Cut the garlic into slices. Drain the kimchi and slice it into coarse chunks. Put the vegetables in separate small plates.

Grill the meat until done. Take a lettuce leave and put some rice, meat and vegetables on top. Close it and dip it in a sauce.
