Sweetened red bean paste is sweetened red beans or aduki beans in paste form. The red-brown dried beans are the seeds of the Vigna angularis creeper, which grows in subtropics. Because of the nutty and sweet taste, they are widely used in Asian mainly Japanese, Korean and Chinese cuisine.
Sweetened red bean paste is used as a filling for sweet snack, such as mochi, pastries, glutinous rice and bapao.
