Rawon is a beef soup originating for the East Java province, in Indonesia. What makes it special and unique is its black colour and nutty flavor that comes from keluak, a seed used as spice in Indonesian cuisine.

INGREDIENTS

  • Bamboe Rawon seasoning paste
  • 500g beef
  • 1 stalk lemongrass
  • 4 lime leaves


Serve with:

  • Chili sauce
  • Slices onion leaves


PREPARATION
Cut the beef into cubes and boil them until half done. Allow 750 ml broth to remain in the pan. Add the seasoning paste, lemongrass and lime leaves. Turn to low heat and simmer until the meat is tender. Serve with chili sauce and sliced onion leaves.
