Sayur asem is an Indonesian dish consisting of a variety of vegetables cooked in a sweet and sour tamarind soup. There are no rules about which vegetables to use to make this soup - what matters is the tamarind broth! INGREDIENTS:
- Bamboe Sayur Asem seasoning paste
- 500-700 ml water
300g vegetables:
- String beans
- Sweet whole corn
- Cabbage
- Zucchini
- Bell pepper
- Kangkung leaves
- Bean sprouts
- Peanuts
PREPARATION
Clean and cut the vegetables. Boil 500-700 ml of water, add the vegetables (young corn and peanuts first for 5 minutes, followed by bell pepper, zucchini for 3 minutes and leaf vegetables last). Stir in the seasoning paste, and cook for 3 minutes.
