This distinctively sour and tangy shrimp soup is served with a healthy selection of fresh vegetables.

INGREDIENTS

  • 18g Mama Sita’s Tamarind Seasoning Mix
  • 250g shrimps, deveined and trimmed
  • 100g long green beans
  • 100g kangkong vegetables
  • 75g tomatoes
  • 50g daikon (radish)
  • 45g onion
  • 2 long green chili peppers
  • Fish sauce to taste
  • 1 liter water

Serve with:

  • Rice

PREPARATION
Cut the long green beans into 5 cm. Slice the radish diagonally. Slice the tomato. Quarter the onion.

Add the water, tomatoes, onions and the radish to a saucepan. Bring it to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Pour in the tamarind seasoning mix. Increase the heat and bring to a rolling boil. Add the prawns. Add the long green beans, green peppers and fish sauce. Cover and simmer for another 3 minutes or until the prawns are cooked.

Turn off the heat and add the kangkong. Cover to steam-cook the vegetables. Serve hot with rice.
