Sop buntut is a popular Indonesian oxtail soup made of beef tails served with vegetables in a rich and clear broth. It is commonly eaten with rice and accompanied by chili sauce, sweet soy sauce and lime juice. Try it!

INGREDIENTS

  • Bamboe Sop seasoning paste
  • 400g oxtail*, cut in pieces
  • Oil/butter
  • 2 Tbsp sliced/minced shallots
  • 1 Tbsp sliced garlic
  • 900 ml water

Mixed vegetables:

  • Carrot
  • Green beans
  • Red beans
  • Celery


PREPARATION
Boil 400g oxtail (cut into pieces) in 900 ml water. Add seasoning paste and mixed vegetables. Turn to low heat and simmer until the meat is tender.



Tips for stronger taste
Sauté 2 tablespoons of sliced/minced shallots and 1 tablespoon of sliced garlic with oil or butter, add to the soup along with seasoning paste.



*Variation tip
You can replace oxtail with beef or chicken.
