When using for the first time
- Fill the dolsot with water and a tablespoon of salt. Heat the dolsot on low heat and gradually increase the temperature. Let the water simmer for 10 minutes.
- Pour out the water and wipe the bowl with a piece of kitchen paper. The bowl will absorb the remaining water. When the bowl is completely dry, brush the inside with sesame oil until the bowl no longer absorbs the oil.
- Remove the excess sesame oil with kitchen paper. The dolsot is ready for use. With this process you create a natural non-stick coating.
Washing
Add 1 tablespoon of coarse sea salt to the bowl and fill the bowl with boiling water. Use a brush to clean it. In addition to salt, you can also use lemon and/or vinegar. Let the dolsot dry in the draining rack and then grease the inside with sesame oil. Do not use chemical cleaning agents, because the material absorbs everything.
