Poké Bowl
Get to know the food trend of the moment: the Poké Bowl! This salad is a traditional dish from Hawaii that focuses on fresh fish and vegetables. Because many Japanese live on this island, this dish has Japanese influences and many Asian ingredients are used. The dish is very easy to prepare: you cut the various ingredients into cubes and enjoy!
- 250g tuna
- 250g salmon
- ¼ onion
- 2 spring onions
- 1 tbsp white and black sesame seeds (roasted)
- 2 to 3 bowls of Japanese rice
- Optional: seaweed
SPICES
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- 80ml Japanese soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- Optional: sriracha sauce
OPTIONALTOPPINGS
- Edamame beans
- Seaweed sheets (nori)
- Furikake
- Pickled sushi ginger
- Wasabi for some extra spice
- Masago (fish eggs)
- Cucumber (thinly sliced or chopped)
- Avocado (thinly sliced or chopped)
15 minutes preparation time + 1 hour waiting time
- Boil or steam the rice. Stir the rice vinegar into the rice while it is still warm. Let the rice cool for an hour.
- In the meantime, cut the salmon and tuna into manageable pieces. Chop the spring onions into small pieces. Cut the onion into thin strips of 2 cm.
- Place the salmon and tuna in a large bowl and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Add the onions, spring onions and seaweed. Then add the soy sauce and sesame oil.
- Sprinkle the ingredients with sesame seeds.
- Divide the rice among 3 bowls. Then place the ingredients on top.
- Add your favorite toppings.
